Kent trust appoints NHSI director as new chief executive
Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells (MTW) NHS Trust has appointed Miles Scott as its new chief executive.
Scott joins the trust from his position as improvement director at NHS Improvement, where he has worked for the last 18 months.
Previously, he spent the period between 2005 and 2011 as chief executive of Bradford Teaching Hospitals FT, followed by five years in the same role at St George’s Hospitals University FT in London.
In response to the announcement, MTW chairman, David Highton, commented: “I am delighted that Miles will be joining us as our new chief executive.
“He brings with him extensive experience at all levels in the NHS. Our ambition, together, is to continue to make MTW an excellent place for care which is underpinned by financial stability.
Highton also thanked interim chief executive Jim Lusby for his “valuable contribution” in filling the role after former CEO Glenn Douglas left the trust.
Scott said he was delighted with the appointment, adding: “I have been very impressed by the staff I have met and look forward to working together to deliver outstanding patient and staff experience.”
The new CEO is expected to take over on 8 January next year.
