Uncovering the benefits of collaborative working

Some of the most advanced collaborative relationships anywhere in the business world can be found in the health sector, and the Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW) is keen to examine exactly how they are working in practice.

It is doing research with Warwick University to examine the benefits of collaborative working and its future direction.

ICW operations director and knowledge architect David E Hawkins said in a message to NHE readers across the health sector: “We have now reached the next critical phase of the research programme, which is to capture your views considering how collaborative working is being adopted by your organisations and how you see the benefits/challenges ahead. We would very much appreciate your time to complete the survey which can be accessed using this link.

“We anticipate that the survey will only take around 20 minutes to complete and would stress that we are looking to capture the broadest of views so your input will be a highly valuable contribution to the final report which will be published and available through our website in November.”

Earlier phases of the research involved high-level executive interviews and a workshop.

The ICW’s earlier work in this area was “instrumental” in the development of the BS 11000 collaborative working standard.
