Three new non-executive directors join the NHS Supply Chain board
The NHS Supply Chain has appointed three new non-executive directors to join its board.
Professor Heather Tierney-Moore, Steven Glew, and Heather Benjamin will join Supply Chain Coordination Limited (SCCL), the management board of the new NHS Supply Chain from today.
The chair, James Spittle, welcomed the new non-executive directors, saying each brought a wealth of clinical, financial and commercial experience respectively to the NHS supply chain.
Heather Tierney-Moore will provide clinical expertise after training originally as a registered general nurse and now has over 30 years’ experience in healthcare.
She is currently the chief executive of Lancashire Care NHS FT, holding the role since 2009, and has extensive non-executive experience with NHS Confederation and, most recently, the charity Community Integrated Care.
The new financial director is Steven Glew, who has substantial retail experience in turnaround and growth opportunities, working at UK Mail for 10 years and in senior roles at Tesco for 15 years.
Heather Benjamin will provide commercial expertise in logistics and supply chain, with experience leading companies and serving on the board of directors for private, commercial and not-for-profit organisations.
Spittle commented on the appointments: “I am delighted to have such a strong and capable leadership team providing subject matter expertise and robust challenge on the board.
“With their extensive clinical, financial and commercial experience I am confident they will help drive the success of the new NHS Supply Chain.”
