A collection of stakeholders were at the centre of a recent engagement event exploring how the NHS can reduce avoidable hospital admissions and improve patient experience.
The event was hosted by Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) and saw healthcare professionals from a range of sectors join patients and local residents to discuss new working practices.
Talks were held around everything from improving primary and community care access and strengthening patient communication, all the way to deploying earlier interventions and changing people’s behaviours across the local region.
At the event – named the best bed is my bed – attendees also heard from speakers about other ways in which people’s interactions with the health system can be improved.
Some of the guests included staff from Barking and Dagenham Council, a trail-blazing service that enables patients to access emergency departments more conveniently, and other private partners that are already helping drive up health outcomes across the NHS.
If you want to engage with sector leaders, visit our events page and register for our Digital Healthcare virtual event where you will hear the commentary and insight from leading voices from NHS organisations up and down the country – including BHRUT’s chief clinical information officer, Devesh Sinha.
